The hit of smoke chimes beautifully with our Oaken Gin here. Smoke gets in our eyes when we drink this, in a number of ways. The cocktail was created by Brendan Brewster at North 53  in Edmonton. A bright light and amazing man who sadly died in early 2016. RIP Brendo.


  • 2 oz Oaken Gin
  • 1/4 oz Smoked maple syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 3 dashes Twisted & Bitter Orange Bitters
  • For smoke:
  • Some Blue spruce
  • Some Orange oil


Smoke glass containing a large piece of ice and a fine cherry with some blue spruce sprayed with orange oil. As glass smokes, combine ingredients in a mixing glass and stir on ice. Pour cocktail over ice in glass and serve.
